Truck Repair Directories: How to Choose Where to List
Truck repair and roadside directories exist because drivers and dispatchers need help in places they do not know. A good directory sends you breakdown calls from people you would never reach otherwise. A poor one takes your money and sends little. This guide gives you questions to ask any directory, and answers them openly for All Roadside, including what our free listing does and does not include.

Question one: who actually uses it?
A directory is only as good as the people searching it. Ask:
- Do drivers, dispatchers and fleet coordinators use it, or mostly other businesses?
- How do people arrive? From searches, an app, a fleet portal?
- Does it cover the problems and places your customers search for?
All Roadside: people searching for a truck problem in a place land on our city, interstate, exit and problem pages, then open the directory for that area and call directly from listings.
Question two: how are listings ordered?
This is the most important question, and many directories do not answer it clearly. Ask what decides the order, whether paid listings are labeled, and whether paying can change organic results.
All Roadside: the order is public. From the top: Platinum (invite only, rotating first place), Sponsored (two spots per service per area, highest monthly bid), Pro (rotating), Free (closest first). Paid sections are labeled, and the free section is always sorted by distance.
Question three: how do you pay?
- Per lead or per call: you pay for each inquiry, sometimes shared with competitors.
- Per click or view: you pay for attention whether or not anyone calls.
- Flat subscription: a set price for placement.
- Bid: you compete for top positions.
All Roadside: listing is free. Pro is a flat $99 per month per listing, or $990 per year. Sponsored is a monthly bid on top of Pro, sold per category per area. Platinum has no public price and cannot be bought.
Halfway: many shops are already in the All Roadside directory. Claim your listing to control what callers see, or add your business if it is missing.
Question four: what does one listing cover?
Ask whether pricing is per location, per service, or per account, and how far a listing reaches.
All Roadside: pricing is per listing. A listing covers its home town plus 25 miles for shops, and plus 30 miles for mobile repair and towing. To reach farther, add a listing in another town. One Pro listing covers all the service categories that location offers. Sponsored is the exception: it is sold per category per area.
Question five: what does the free listing include?
All Roadside free listing: name, phone, address, hours and services, placement on the city, interstate and exit pages that cover you, sorted by distance, and owner edits for towing classes, payment methods and fleet accounts accepted. Free listings do not include photos and always appear below the paid sections.
Question six: can you see how it performs?
Ask every caller where they found you. That tally is the most reliable test of any directory, including ours.
Question seven: is it built for trucks?
General business directories mix truck shops with car repair and everything else. Truck directories let callers search by the services trucks need: mobile repair, tire service, heavy towing, truck stops, washes.
How to list well on any directory
- Use the exact same name, address and phone everywhere.
- List every service you actually provide.
- Keep hours accurate, especially after-hours.
- Fill in payment methods and fleet accounts.
- For towing, list the truck classes you handle.
- Check the listing every few months.
Deciding when to pay
Start free. Track calls by source for a month or two. If your area is crowded and you are buried among free listings, Pro lifts you above all of them for $99 per month per listing. If one service in one city matters most, a Sponsored bid puts that service above Pro. Platinum is earned through answered calls, driver feedback and service quality, and goes to roughly the top 10 percent of providers in an area.
